Microneedling FAQ’s

  • What is Microneedling?

Microneedling is a form of collagen induction therapy that stimulates the skin’s natural healing process and promotes the growth of new cells for tissue regeneration and remodeling. The procedure uses microneedles to gently perforate the skin and stimulate the skin’s natural repair producing new collagen, elastin, and other healing substances. It improves skin tone and texture producing a refreshed and youthful glow. Prior to the procedure, skin is coated with either Hyaluronic Acid serum or the patient’s own Platelet Rich Plasma. Each needle movement drives the healing and lifting properties of the serum deep into the skin, promoting skin renewal. Microneedling is ideal for patients who are looking for a minimally invasive, quick, safe, and effective way to improve skin’s texture, tone, tightening and firmness, decreased pores, and improves overall skin rejuvenation.

  • How Does Eclipse MicroPen EVO™ System Work?

Sterile cartilage containing tiny micro-points is attached to the Eclipse MicroPen EVO. Your physician will apply Hyaluronic Acid Serum or PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) to your skin and select the appropriate pen position based on your individual needs. In a single motion, the pen will be gently pressed against the skin while simultaneously gliding in one direction until the entire treatment area has been covered. Many patients report a sensation of “sandpaper being moved across the skin”. While some areas of the skin are more sensitive than others, the speed of the reciprocating tip makes the treatment more comfortable. Because most micro needling sessions only take about 15-30 minutes, any discomfort is temporary and is felt only during the procedure itself. On average, patients experience redness for 2-3 days. Some patients heal completely within 24 hours.

The instrument itself utilizes what is called medical micro needling to create thousands of invisible and virtually painless perforations. By creating these microscopic channels in the epidermis, the body immediately responds by increasing the formation of new tissues to refresh mature skin as well as releasing growth factors that promote scar and hyperpigmentation repair and healing. Adjustable needle depth allows customized treatments from different parts of the face and body for desired goals. After the initial treatment, patients often notice a healthy pink glow on their skin and that fine lines are diminished. Skin naturally takes roughly 4 weeks to produce new collagen then more optimal results are noticeable 3-4 months later. It is generally recommended for patients to receive 2 - 4 treatments, spaced at least 4 - 6 weeks apart and then maintenance spaced 6 - 12 months after. It is clinically proven to be safe, effective, affordable and treatments have minimal downtime and discomfort. MicroPen EVO is safe for most skin types and is known for its beautiful, natural-looking results.

  • What is MicroPen EVO?

It is an advanced, medical-grade automated microneedling device. Automated microneedling is an innovation in aesthetic medicine for the treatment of the appearance of fine lines, reduction of pores, acne/surgical scars, and overall improvement of the skin’s texture, tone, and color. The skin’s repair process results in an improvement in the appearance of the skin. While troublesome skin tissues are addressed, patients receive the benefit of a more youthful appearance as well, hence this procedure is now one of the most sought after, minimally invasive treatments for skin rejuvenation. It is quickly becoming the preferred choice for those looking to enhance their appearance without surgery or significant downtime. In the past, patients seeking proven collagen-boosting results could only achieve long-lasting, noticeable results through procedures administered from large, complex laser machines, usually within a series of multiple appointments.

  • What Eclipse MicroPen can do for you

One of the most exciting perks of the Eclipse MicroPen EVO is the immediate results most patients experience. Most patients can see a “glow” to their skin as soon as the procedure is finished, and visible changes to the skin develop over the course of several weeks. Results continue to improve up to 6 months after the treatment. Some patients only require a single treatment in one visit just once a year to achieve noticeable results. However, most skin care specialists recommend that patients receive a series of 3-4 treatments spaced 4-6 wks apart for optimal results. For patients with significant skincare concerns, such as deep acne scars, it is recommended to receive 6-8 sessions at 6 wk intervals. The treatment plan is individualized per patient and maintenance is usually advised.
